CAMARCO PARTNERS WITH EDUCATIONAL CHARITY, ARK SCHOOLS, TO OFFER SIXTH FORM STUDENTS INTERNSHIPS

CAMARCO PARTNERS WITH EDUCATIONAL CHARITY, ARK SCHOOLS, TO OFFER SIXTH FORM STUDENTS INTERNSHIPS

Capital Market Communications Limited (“Camarco”), the sector focused financial and corporate communications consultancy, is pleased to announce its partnership with the educational charity, ARK Schools to offer internships to sixth form students studying at ARK Burlington Danes Academy in West London. The first internship will begin this summer.

ARK Burlington Danes Academy is a Church of England non-selective, co-educational secondary school within the English academy programme, located in White City, London and is an ARK school. ARK is an education charity with a network of schools comprising both newstart and transition schools. ARK’s aim is to create outstanding schools that give every ARK pupil the opportunity to go to university or pursue the career of their choice.

Laura Stone, Assistant Principal of ARK Burlington Danes Academy said:

“We’re delighted that Camarco is providing our students with an insight into the world of work. This is an important part of any young adult’s education.”

Lord Stanley Fink, Chairman of Governors of ARK Burlington Danes Academy said:

“If every company in London took the initiative to engage with schools from under-privileged parts of the capital to take on just one summer student as an intern, London would have a better functioning society and economy and those companies would be better placed to engender staff diversity.”

About ARK Burlington Danes Academy

ARK Burlington Danes Academy is a Church of England non-selective, co-educational secondary school within the English academy programme, located in White City, London and is an ARK school.

The school is funded by the Department for Education and operated by ARK schools, a registered charity under English law, and sponsored by parent charity ARK.

The school re-opened as an academy in September 2006, but traces its origins to two separate schools, Burlington School for girls founded in 1699 and St Clement Danes School, founded in 1862.

About ARK Schools ARK is an education charity with a network of schools comprising both new-start and transition schools. ARK’s aim is to create outstanding schools that give every ARK pupil the opportunity to go to university or pursue the career of their choice.

To achieve this, ARK schools prioritise six key principles:

  • High expectations
  • Exemplary behaviour
  • Excellent teaching
  • Depth before breadth
  • More time for learning
  • Knowing every child

ARK runs a range of health, welfare and education projects in the UK, Southern Africa, India and Eastern Europe. ARK has established two external education leadership programmes, Teaching Leaders and Future Leaders, which train middle and senior leaders for schools that serve England’s most deprived areas.
